Simulcast

Available to all sellers of vehicles but for motor trade buyers only, Simulcast is a simultaneous Internet broadcast of a physical auction, where online buyers compete with other online buyers as well as buyers physically at an auction centre. The very latest online broadcast technology allows the buyer, from the comfort of their own office, to see and hear all the action from the auction hall and then, with the click of a mouse, bid and buy cars, vans or trucks in real-time, competing against other online buyers as well as buyers who are actually in the hall. Each Simulcast bid received online is instantly registered in the auction hall by a large coloured flashing plasma screen.

The advantages of Simulcast to sellers are:

‘Simulcasted’ vehicles have been proven to attract higher prices than ‘hall only’ vehicles. That is why Manheim Auctions sold over 25,000 vehicles to Simulcast buyers in 2009, a 95% increase over the previous year.

CyberAuction

Rather than an online broadcast of a physical auction, CyberAuction is a live, purely online auction where all invited buyers (trade only) are bidding over the Internet against each other. The auction is controlled by a professional auctioneer who buyers can both see and hear. Buyers base their bidding decisions on a series of professional images of vehicles that appear sequentially in lot order. Buyers in a CyberAuction bid for vehicles in exactly the same way as online buyers in a Simulcast auction. However, with CyberAuction there’s no need to incur any transport costs for moving stock to an auction centre, as the stock is not physically required for the CyberAuction to take place.

The advantages of CyberAuction to sellers are that:

  • Vehicle movements and therefore transport costs are minimised
  • Can be timetabled outside the traditional auction times
  • Dedicated auction for the vendor’s brand
  • Can be effective with just 50 vehicles on offer
  • Unwanted or excess stock can be discreetly liquidated
  • The buyer audience can be specially selected or restricted to franchised dealer networks
  • Bidding and buying activity can be closely monitored
